Saying Good-Bye To Scout

I know how hard it is to say goodbye to such a true friend, but a message like this telling me their dog lived for 15 years makes it a little easier. Goldens are known to have a shorter life span. Knowing most of our dogs are living a healthy long life makes my heart smile:

Hi Barb – we just wanted to let you know that we had to put Scout (Ivy/Banner) down on Christmas Eve. She was born on Dec. 21, 2003. Scout made it to her 15th birthday! She actually did amazing right until her birthday. She had a rough day on that day, but bounced back to have two really good days where the college kids could be home with her, and then a rough Christmas Eve when we had to put her down. We were amazed that she made it to 15.  We loved her so much; she was the best family dog ever. Thanks so much for giving us such a treasured part of our family for 15 years!!! I am sure many of your dogs live that long, but we were truly amazed.  She was a great dog.

Here is a recent picture of Scout with our new dog Molly.

Thanks so much for all that you do.
