Remembering Gunnar

Hello Barb,

image001It is with great sadness but wonderful memories that I write to tell you that we needed to help our Gunnar over the rainbow bridge last week. We think he had a stroke. Our vet came to our home and it was very peaceful and without pain or anxiety. Gunnar would have been 12 on January 8th. I want you to know that he lived a Golden life. He loved the lake and had daily summer access to it his entire life. He was voted the “one” who uses our lake the most by our neighbors. He helped us raise our children. He changed the lives of 2 German exchange students as they each spent a year with us and never had their own dog. They were here when he was a young puppy and thus, his commands were all in German. Gunnar was loved by all. I have been involved with RAGOM for 2 years and Gunnar was a very accepting role model for 7 other goldens who we helped to find forever homes. Pete and I thank you for your special care for this loving breed. We were so blessed to be in his life and thank you for allowing us to bring him into our family. We loved him each and every day.

God bless!

Jill and Pete
