Good morning Barb and Russ!!!!! Jim and I want you to know how fortunate we have been to get such a wonderful puppy from you!!!! Duke is a delight!!! An absolutely gorgeous, smart, funny puppy. I got him home to Granville Ohio on my 61st birthday, August 25, 2013. He was such a good traveller. I did not hear a peep out of him on the airplane ride home, and of course the flight attendants fell immediately in love!!!! Anyway, he has slept in a kennel in our bedroom every night and slept all night each and every night. You had given me some pointers about his sleeping habits and I did what I was told and it worked!!! We put him in about 9:30 p.m. and he wakes up sometime between 5:45 – 6:30!! I do think he would sleep longer, but I am the one who gets up and he hears me!!! Out of the kennel we go, up the steps and outside!!!! He comes in has his treat, his supplement pill and then his breakfast. Outside we go again, this time for a walk around the neighborhood. He has met so many of the dogs in the neighborhood and he doesn’t meet a stranger. On the way back into the house in the morning – the newspaper is at the base of the driveway, and he sees that – runs down the driveway, picks up the paper and carries it to the front door!!! Of course, it’s a game to him, I don’t think he knows how he is helping by bringing it in, but it doesn’t matter. We have a trainer who comes once a week since we have brought him home and it is amazing how much he has learned. He is so smart, willing to please and just an absolute joy to be around. She is very impressed with him and how he was raised from day one. I’m sorry if I am rambling on, but I cannot say enough good things about this dog – he has brought new life in our home and he is an absolutely beautiful puppy who will grow into a gorgeous dog. We are blessed Barb and thankful to you and the Lord every day.
Best regards, Susan and Jim
P.S. I received his AKC registration – his name is Sir Duke of Sanibel!!!!
