Well, we did it! We placed all three litters this month and managed to bring two adult dogs to the State fair both week-ends! I couldn’t have done it without the help of Rolling Oaks Staff. We hired our daughter Anna full time for the entire month of August and first two weeks of September. We put in some 16 hour days! As you can see by the photos and videos, we had a great time with the puppies. When we were at the nursing home in Litchfield, we put a puppy into a gentleman’s arms who was sitting in a wheel chair. He started laughing and talking to the puppy. We didn’t think anything of it until we noticed the nurse crying. When asked if everything was okay, she told us the man hasn’t spoken for two weeks. She was crying tears of joy! Those experiences are what make all the long days and nights worth it! One of the most rewarding parts of my job is involving my grandchildren. Our daughters came out with the kids for several days to help hold puppies, give baths and make meals. I feel very fortunate to have a job that blesses so many people.
If you have submitted a puppy application in August, I am sorry I have not called you for a phone interview. I just couldn’t find the time. I am not ignoring you, just have a lot of priorities with all the pups! I will be calling you soon. Thank you for being patient. Our next litters will be born in October and ready between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Depending on how many are born, there should be puppies available in those litters. Again, if you are waiting for me to call you, thank you for understanding.
