There are 3 females, 2 males. This litter is spoken for. Hazel is due June 10 and Jasmine is due June 24. We will be breeding Emmy in the future. The puppies in Hazel’s litter are spoken for. Depending on how many pups in each litter, Jasmine may have puppies available in her litter. They will be ready for their new homes around August 4. Emmy’s litter will be ready for their new homes around October. There is never a dull moment here as we prepare for Anna’s graduation party. She finished school yesterday at Ridgewater College. She went post secondary. It was a lot of work and I am so proud of her. Not everyone can accomplish all that she has at her young age. It is not easy for me to prepare to let her go. She has been such a blessing to our family. I don’t have to tell her what needs to be done, she sees it and does the job. She is so good with Amy and really brings out the best in her. It will be a completely different house next fall when Anna is gone. Thankfully she is working for Rolling Oaks this summer, as we have 4 litters total!!! I will post more photos of all the puppies so you can watch them grow!

I read the excerpt from the book you have started, and I absolutely think this will appeal to, and affect mothers, fathers, families, grandparents, and everyone in between. I remember watching your daughter so happy in the middle of all the puppies on one of the visits I made to see the puppies, and that moment was very touching. I will post the link on facebook, and wish you much success for having the courage to share your heartfelt life’s story.

My big guy, Winston (Banner and Lilly July 2007), is the silliest, sweetest, Golden ever! He will be 5 years old this summer, and still acts as if he is a little puppy. I have attached a picture of him with his favorite toy, “Lammy.” He is super smart, and everyone falls in love with him. He just sparkles!

We have purchased a new home with larger acreage, so hoping to find a new friend for Winston in a year or so and feel good that they can have a large area to play and run. I’m sure I will be talking to you in the next year……………

Warm regards,
Shelly

It is spring already and I wanted to remind you of the meds and preventative meds your dog needs in the spring. In the past I haven’t been big on supplementing. Thousands of dollars are spent on researching what our dogs need to live a healthy, long life. Dog food is a multimillion dollar business. I have always concluded that with all the research, the premium food I feed my dogs is enough. That is until I realized the dog food industry is changing. I began to research and found out about NuVet Plus. This supplement is only available through breeders. I started requesting my clients use it for at least one year to support the immune system of their puppy. I really believe it supports the immune system, especially after the Diamond Dog Food poisoning. Many kennels lost all their dogs due to liver failure. Two kennels in Georgia were supplementing with NuVet and their dogs survived. The veterinarians confirmed the NuVet was the only difference in life and death for those dogs. I notice a difference in my dogs and recommend you use it. I feel better about giving vaccines when I know I am supporting the immune system. You receive a discount if you use my code when ordering. You can call an order in 1-800-474-7044. Your order code is # 81158 or go to the website www.nuvet.com

I am not anti-vaccinations, but there is a lot of controversy about the pros and cons of vaccines, and how they have changed over the last 10 years. I have read several books and articles about it and talked to three veterinarians. I am not ready to advise no vaccinations, but I do think as owners we need to be cautious about how often we give shots and how many that are given at the same time. I highly recommend only giving one vaccine at a time. This means if you give the rabies shot, you do not give borditella or any other vaccine that same day. Wait a month. Let the body process what it has been given. I also recommend Frontline Plus for fleas and ticks. Now is the time to begin as the ticks are out. Don’t forget to use Heart guard for heartworm prevention. Minnesota has misquotes!! I know it feels like a lot to think about, but spring is the time to prevent for ticks and heartworm. It is great to get outdoors with your dog and you want to be sure he/she is protected. Let me know if you have any questions about my recommendations. These are my opinions, and what I have found to be successful through the years.

I really enjoy reading your blog with all the latest news, and the photos of your beautiful Goldens. I thought you might like to see a photo of Wilson and Redford. Wil (Trey and Heidi) turned 11 yesterday! I can hardly believe it has been that long since I brought him home. Same with Red (7, Rose and Banner). The two of them complement each other beautifully, and get along so well. They are both absolutely wonderful, and I am so thankful to have them in my life (except when they roll in fresh deer poop! Happy Spring~ Becky

Hello Barb, Just thought I’d give you an update on Ben. He is just the Best! We are always getting compliments on how handsome he is!! He has become such a part of our family. He is subjected to daily torture from our youngest Jenna. She loves to play with him and he is so gentle with her and very tolerant!! They act like they are litter mates Ben is also very good with Ava. It’s funny because he treats her very different. He will come up to her to cuddle or to be pet, but would never nudge at her to play like he does to Jenna. We loved seeing the post about Potter (Ben’s) brother. He looks so much like Ben!! He looks like a big boy too! Here are some recent pics of Ben and the girls. Hope all is well with you and your family! Kelly

She is snoring so loudly that she keeps waking herself up! She has adjusted just beautifully to life in our home. She loves Holli and follows her around constantly. For the most part Holli has been quite patient and gentle with Lola, the only issue coming when Lola tries to play with “gray squirrel”. No one is allowed to play with gray squirrel. Holli gives a quiet growl and Lola backs off immediately. Holli has also taught her that rough and tumble play is not for inside but outside – game on. They love being outside together. Jon has had them out in the lake five or six times, out in snow over Lola’s body, and on shear ice. It’s so much fun to see her try to move around on all these surfaces. She’s does well in her crate, a few little whimpers during the night but she settles herself right down. Saturday saw a few accidents in the house but Jon felt as if those were really his fault for not paying closer attention to the signals. She knows to go to the laundry room door and we’ve started her ringing the bell (it hangs by the door) with her nose each time we go out. She is such a smart girl! Tomorrow is a trip to school with me and then to the vet. The kids at school are in for such a treat. Thank you do much for everything; more later this week! Jon and Deb and Lola
