There are no guarantees when you are a dog breeder. We bred Griffin and Cabela in October, expecting 8 to 12 puppies. Cabela had one very special little girl on February 3! This is very disappointing for us and the clients waiting for a puppy. We took Griffin to a fertility specialist and at the moment he is the cause for the small litter. We are doing further testing on him. In the meantime, we have two females (Jasmine & Zoey) coming into their cycle soon so we will have late spring/early summer puppies. I will be using an outside stud for these litters. I will post all the information regarding these litters soon.

Hi Barb, Happy New Year! We thought we would send an update on Toby – he is 10 months old now, a pup from the Jasmine/Griffin litter from March 2011. We can’t say enough about how much joy Toby has brought into our lives and our home. He is so sweet and mellow, but also playful and always up for a good walk. We have been in puppy and obedience classes with Toby and he does such a great job! We would like to train Toby in pet therapy so he can volunteer with us at nursing homes or hospitals – we think he has a wonderful demeanor for the job! I’m sending some pictures of Toby- isn’t he a handsome pup? Thank you again for our sweet dog! Alyssa & Mike

Hi Barb,
While walking Greta (Captain/Maddie Nov 2009) down a quiet road in Northern Wisconsin, a red sports car pulled over. The young woman asked, “May I pet your dog? Is she a Rolling Oaks Golden?” I said, “Yes, but how did you know that?” The woman replied, “She has the look.” I asked, “Do you have a Rolling Oaks dog?” She said, “No but I try to read Barb’s blog every week and my dream is to own a Rolling Oaks dog.” My dream has already come true, Greta is a fun dog that loves people and catching Frisbees. -Karen

We have been sending Christmas cards for 31 years. With friends, family and clients we sent over 800 last year. We decided to take a break and send a card every other year. I know our clients enjoy getting a greeting from us, and we love receiving all the wonderful cards from so many of you. It has just gotten to be so many to send, that we are going to try this and see how it goes! Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. We appreciate our family and friends and all our wonderful clients. Owning Rolling Oaks has created some wonderful relationships that we treasure! I have a very unique job. I get to place this wonderful living being into your arms and say ” Many blessings!” A puppy is a lot of work, but anything worth having takes work. All the time and effort you put into your puppy pays off with years of enjoyment and happiness, tons of memories, laughter and joy. As 2012 approaches, we wish you the very best! Delilah had her puppies!

December 9th Delilah had three puppies. Two females and a male. Mom and babies are healthy and doing well. These puppies are spoken for. Cabela is due in January. Her litter will be ready to go to their new homes Mid-March. We are still taking deposits for Cabela’s litter. If you are interested, please fill out a puppy application

Lambeau & Packer

Hi Barb: Lambeau (6 months) Packer (almost 6 years) – Just wanted to send you an updated picture of Packer and Lambeau. They are best friends!!! Lambeau is going to go get spayed later today. Poor girl. She is doing great. After the holidays in January we plan on sending her to your week long training class. She already is great but can use extra work. We don’t have to put her in the kennel at night or when we leave the house for short amount of time periods. She is a wonderful addition and is great with Paige. Have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ll be in touch soon to schedule a week to have her come out. thanks, Jenny
