Hi Barb, Russ, & family! Today we celebrated Moose’s third birthday. He is a very happy and healthy three year old puppy. We just wanted to send you an updated photo of him from today and let you know we couldn’t be happier with him. We hope everything is going well with your family and the extended Rolling Oaks family and want to wish the rest of the Zena/Captain litter from May ’07 a happy birthday!
Sincerely,
Mike, Erin, & Moose
Hi Barb!
We would love to tell you how great of a dog Cody is! He just turned 6 the other day, and is from Banner and Zena’s litter. Cody has been such a joy, and he definitely continues to humor us on a day to day basis. When we go on walks he is always receiving compliments on how “pretty” he is. Cody is a very spoiled dog, and gets lots and lots of love from everyone he meets. People fall for him immediately. His favorite activities are taking naps by your feet (or in your lap), playing with his beloved stuffed animals, and being outside in the sun. Cody’s puppy spirit still comes out sometimes when he pounces to his toys or runs laps around the backyard. Here are some recent pictures!
Thanks for the perfect dog!

Dory
Dear Barb,
Attached are recent photo’s of Dory, who is going to be 6 years old in August. She was from a litter with Banner and Zena. Shelby just turned 1 year old and her parents were Captain and Ruby Red. Dory had a rough adjustment upon Shelby’s arrival… even after a year they have a “love – hate” relationship on the Dory side. Shelby adores Dory all day, every day and that is part of the problem. Shelby has no idea about personal space and pushes Dory at times. Shelby has done all the typical puppy things.. digging in the yard, tearing wallpaper off the wall, eating socks and most recently swallowing Doug’s wedding ring. We love her and realize a 1 year old dog is similar to a teenager… learning most things the hard way. Both dogs make wonderful alarm clocks and we instruct them to wake up Kaylee, our 11 year old on school mornings. They love the job of jumping in her bed and licking her all over until she finally gets up. It makes our mornings so much easier having them take on this job. This job is done only after Dory manages to get the newspaper in the driveway. She watched Brandy, another Golden we got from you many years ago do this task every morning for 3 years. After Brandy passed, Doug opened the front door told Dory to, “get the paper” and she did without fail…. No training or coaching and she has been doing it for almost 3 years now. Thank you for sharing your love for dogs and talent for raising these beautiful animals for everyone to enjoy.
Sincerely, Eileen & Doug

Just wanted to send a few pictures of Sugar and Honey. Sugar will be 3 at the end of May and Honey just turned 7 months.
Honey’s parents are Captain and Maddie. Sugar’s parents are Banner and Zena. They are both absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
And they are excellent companions. We are so pleased to have them in our family! They get along famously and are true “buddies”. They are so fun to watch and they have great personalities. I have never had 2 dogs simultaneously before and it is great! It is actually easier. They keep each other company and it is fun to watch them learn from each other. We couldn’t be more pleased!
Take care,
Bill and Deb
Lucy is one of Zena and Captain’s puppies.
Hi Barb -
Just a quick update on Lucy. She was spayed on November 9, with no complications. She was just a little sleepy until the next day.
I’m attaching a photo taken a few weeks ago of Lucy and her little “partner in crime,” our granddaughter Taylor, who is 3-1/2. They adore each other, as you can tell! When Taylor is visiting us, she never leaves Lucy alone. Lucy is so patient and kind with her. Taylor likes to lie on the floor and Lucy gives her a big bear hug! It’s a joy to watch them play together.
From my family to yours, we wish you a joyous, peaceful, and grateful holiday season.
Kathy
