DELILAH’S PUPPIES TO THE NURSING HOME

Today we brought Delilah’s puppies to the nursing home. It is an assisted living facility, and my father in law is living there. These photos capture the joy a puppy brings to an elderly person. Even though it is always a lot of work to bring the puppies to all these places, it is so rewarding to see the reaction people have towards a pup.
PUPPY VISITING

We took Jewel’s litter to Pro Works, a place of employment for special needs adults. It is one of my favorite places to bring the puppies. All the people are happy. They are not worried about how much money they have invested, who is the President or what the weather is. They are trusting. Life is simple and easy. Holding a puppy brings screams of delight! No emotion is held back. You know when they are happy, and when they are not! I believe we should all learn something from these very special people. That love is all that matters. Laugh, love and be carefree. Let the simple things in life bring you pleasure, like the cuddles of a puppy!
We took Jewel’s litter to Lincoln Apts., a complex for the elderly.
VISITING THE NURSING HOME

This is a busy week taking Maddie’s litter out and about every day. We went to the nursing home on Saturday and this lady loved the puppies.

TUCKER, TRUE GOLDEN
I just had to post this photo of Tucker, his owner sent it to reflect the true personality of a golden. You can read more about Tucker HERE and HERE.
LETTING GO OF ROSE

I have not placed our older, retired dogs into homes until this year. It is emotional, as these girls have lived here all of their lives. They have hunted with Russ and the boys, swam with us, camped with us, and given birth to numerous beautiful puppies. The thought of them leaving was very difficult, yet, knowing that we have young dogs to take care of, and new breeding dogs coming up, we felt it best for both the older dogs and new owners to have them get a lot of one on one attention. We placed Zena and Lilly at the Emanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. Both girls are doing so well, and are loved by so many people. They bring a smile to the face of an elderly person every day! Now it is Rose’s turn, and we placed her in a loving home this last week. This is a photo of her sleeping next to her new owner. As hard as it is to let them go, I know it is the best for them to love and be loved in these atmospheres. It does seem like just yesterday Rose was toddling around as a puppy, and now she is 9 years old. She has lived a wonderful life, and hopefully will live many more years to bring the love to her new owners that she brought to us.
