Hi Barb,
While walking Greta (Captain/Maddie Nov 2009) down a quiet road in Northern Wisconsin, a red sports car pulled over. The young woman asked, “May I pet your dog? Is she a Rolling Oaks Golden?” I said, “Yes, but how did you know that?” The woman replied, “She has the look.” I asked, “Do you have a Rolling Oaks dog?” She said, “No but I try to read Barb’s blog every week and my dream is to own a Rolling Oaks dog.” My dream has already come true, Greta is a fun dog that loves people and catching Frisbees. -Karen

Hello Barb, Congratulations on your new litter! We just wanted to update you on our fantastic Kali (Captain and Maddie Feb 2008)! She just turned 3 and is ABSOLUTELY perfect for our family. Kali loves to be around people and will retrieve a ball all day, if we let her. She loves the snow and whenever she gets a chance she will run and slide on the fresh snow. Kali and our daughter, Kiera, are best friends! We are amazed everyday when we see them interact. Kali is so gentle and tolerant
Thanks for starting her off with so much love and care. Hope you are well. All the best, Rachel, Josh and Kiera P.S. Wanted to include a picture from this fall.
Hi Barb and Russ, It has been three weeks since Greta (Maddie and Captain, Nov. 2010) has returned from Rolling Oaks training. I cannot thank you enough for the amazing improvement in Greta’s behavior. As you know we attended puppy training last winter and spring and Greta was an attentive student. This summer as her strength grew, my command consistency lessened, and she challenged me more. After Rolling Oaks training, her heeling is so improved that walking has become a delight. We have added a mile to our daily walking routine, which is good for both of us. We have more fun at local dog parks; she “stays” and retrieves balls like a champ even with the distraction of other dogs. An added bonus from her Rolling Oaks experience is that Greta is totally content in her outdoor dog run. This allows for more flexibility with my work schedule. Thank you for teaching us valuable long lasting lessons.

Hi Barb,
I wanted to update you on Duncan’s progress. He’s been doing wonderfully well in his new surroundings. He is sleeping through the night (from night 1!), and goes potty outside consistently. I think we’ve only had 2 accidents in the house, and that was likely our fault for not seeing the signs. We’ve been to Ben’s parents’ lake several times, and Duncan loves to dig in the sand, wade in the water and run up and down the beach. He is an angel when he comes to work with me each day, and sleeps soundly in his kennel. We get out every couple hours and romp around at the park by my office, and then it’s back to sawing zzzs! He has met several of the family dogs, and does a nice job of knowing his place in “the pack.” It has been a wonderful experience, and we’re so thankful for all of your hard work in socializing him and training him right off the bat. He’s got “come” and “sit” down perfectly. Our vet and the vet student who looked at Duncan were very impressed by his advanced progress. Thank you! Here are some photos of Duncan for you.
Thanks again Barb! We love our little puppy!
Best regards, Becky & Ben
Hello!
Just an update, we are doing great! We have decided to name our pup Captain! We actually call him Captain Jack, after trying a couple names out yesterday we like that one the best.
He did great coming home, our ragdoll cat Cocoa is still wondering what is going on but very curious around Captain. He did great in the crate last night, we heard him a little at 4am, but did not get up with him, we got him up at 7am and the crate was dry! We just took him to the vet for his puppy check, they loved him, he checked out great. He is 11 lbs even!
He has had no accidents in the house and he’s went by the door twice to go out and he went potty both times!
Talk to you soon!
Angela
